Senior project
The religion behind the Kiva and the ancient pueblo people was a very interesting one. First off they where polytheism based religion so they had a lot of gods and this gave them a lot of time to praise every one when they needed that god. The kiva is the place in witch the religious performances took place. It was a holy place that was only for men. They would do rituals and have a fire in the center of a circle that is covered with a dome like structure with only two holes the entrance and the vent for the fire. The entrance was at the top of the dome and the vent was closer to the ground. In the dome was to golf ball size holes one was for the entrance of spirits to this world and one was an exit for them. Behind theses holes was an indent in the back of the wall and it was for little figures that meant a lot to the entering spirits. These medicine men were the guider of spirits from this world to others. They also had a way to talk to the gods of the universe and they could make crops grow in nights and make it rain and they would know the land and when they should go. This was an amazing thing that they did they knew when to leave, when they have done enough damage to the land and how the future relies on it. The most interesting kiva I saw was in Colorado, it was a great kiva witch means it was used a lot for their rituals. In these Kivas was an amazing thing that was created for the summer god and the winter god. It was a sight to see.
The ancient pueblo people believed that the world was held between two gods and they balanced out he world, the first world was destroyed by fire and it was because of man. The second world was flooded and that too was because of man. The third world was the two gods flipping in the polls and the great ice age hit. Now the world we live in is the fourth world and if we treat it as bad as the last few
